An Israeli mother and her two young daughters were taken away from their own home, likely kidnapped by Hamas operatives in the night. The victims were reportedly asleep when the terrorists broke into their home, taking the mother and daughters with them.
The mother‘s husband was woken up and witnessed the abduction, which occurred in the Israeli settlement of Halamish in the West Bank. The husband reportedly screamed for help from their neighbors but was ignored. He then called the police, but it was too late as the terrorists had already taken the mother and her two daughters.
The victims have not been heard from since the abduction and the Israeli government is currently conducting a manhunt to find them. The Israeli military has closed off the entire settlement and imposed a complete lockdown until the hostages are found. This is the first instance of Hamas taking Israeli hostages since the 2014 war.
The abduction of the three hostages has reignited the fear among Israeli citizens that Hamas may be once again attempting to terrorize them. Hamas has yet to make a statement or claim responsibility for the kidnapping and it remains unclear who initiated the abduction or what their motivations were.
The Israeli government has vowed to do whatever it takes to locate and rescue the hostages and has urged citizens to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities as they conduct their investigation. The Israeli Prime Minister has yet to make a public statement on the incident.
