Smith & Wesson, a leader in the firearms industry, has recently taken its headquarters to Tennessee. After serving in Massachusetts for over 180 years, the company made the move to Music City, the capital of the Volunteer State.
Tennessee was chosen for its low taxes, which tend to be a great incentive for businesses. The state is also home to a number of firearms manufacturers and distributors.
The company‘s president and CEO, Mark Smith, expressed his enthusiasm over the move. “We are proud to join the Tennessee business community and look forward to strengthening the area’s already-thriving firearms industry,” he said.
Smith & Wesson also hopes to contribute positively to the Tennessee economy and create new job opportunities. New tax revenue will also help the state keep lowering taxes for its residents.
The company plans to bring over 100 employees to Tennessee. The new facility will be located in the Hamilton County city of Collegedale, with a new distribution center located in nearby Chattanooga.
