Dwayne Johnson has taken it upon himself to make sure the Maui Island will remain a part of the Hawaiian Islands for generations to come. The Hollywood star revealed on Wednesday his intentions to create a fund that will be used to support and maintain the island‘s natural beauty.
Johnson made the exciting announcement via a statement, where he said, “As a native Hawaiian, I have a responsibility to protect the islands, its culture, and its people. My hope is that, by creating this fund, the island of Maui will remain part of the Hawaiian landscape for many years to come,”.
In the statement, Johnson made clear his intentions to keep the Maui Island clean through the fund, which will then be managed by a team of experts. “We will work to ensure that, through the fund, Maui‘s natural resources remain unharmed. We will also seek to use the fund to support a range of conservation and preservation initiatives, and to ensure the people of the island are able to enjoy its natural beauty for years to come,” he continued.
Since 2016, Johnson has been a very vocal advocate of the preservation of the Hawaiian community and its environment. He has since established the Dwayne Johnson Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping to establish and develop projects related to the conservation of Hawaiian lands. While this new fund is clearly a big step for Johnson, it is definitely an even bigger step forward for the Hawaiian community and its future.
